Completion requirements
Welcome to this learning module on computer memory!
This week, we will be exploring the fundamental concepts of how computers store and access information. To guide us, we will be using the video "Registers and RAM: Crash Course Computer Science #6."
This video provides a clear and engaging explanation of computer memory, starting from the very basics and building up to the complex systems we use today. By the end of this video, you will be able to:
- Understand the role of Random Access Memory (RAM) in a computer.
- Explain how a single bit of memory is built using logic gates.
- Describe how registers and latches work to store data.
- Understand the concept of memory addressing and how it allows for efficient data retrieval.
- Recognize the different types of RAM and how they are scaled up to create the large memory capacities found in modern computers.
Please watch the video linked below. We will be discussing its concepts in our next session.
